Organic food contaminated with GM Full Story
I knew that. It's not the farmer's fault; they do all their best to keep their field away from chemicals, but that's an extremely difficult task, if not impossible. Their two main problem is firstly, chemicals are widely spread around, so you'll find them where you don't expect to; and secondly, the equipments have become so accurate that can detect a minute level of chemical in products. This doesn't mean they are not healthier food than non-organics: all in all they have less chemical ingredients. But it is very likely that people react to it quite aggressivley, since they pay a lot for having a chemical/GM-free food.
Americans have sorted this out in an easy way: Based on this survey, majority of Americans do not know whether or not their food contains any GM stuff.
Apart from the reliability, it looks like the official bans against "Frankenfoods" is getting less and less. (See this and this) and it's very likely that the public fear will start to fade as well.
Organic foods are not alone in their fate, this is something to happen to all traditional careers: small stores and local shops will also have a difficult way in front to pace with megastores. Restaurants/cafes, especially traditional ones will have a very tight competition with McDonalds, KingsBurger, or KFC. Small companies will be dominated by big ones, either being eliminated or merged. There is only one golden rule: Make customers satisfied, and make money. Otherwise, "...In my Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you..."
